BM_Water (1)Spring has sprung! Encourage mom or dad to shed their winter coat and grab some fresh air. Fortunately, the beautiful state of Georgia offers plenty of spring-like activities to do.

Walk Fresh

The Brickmont of Milton assisted living community is lucky to be located in such a beautiful city. Take advantage of the scenery and green foliage by taking mom or dad on a nature walk. Milton, Milton, Georgia is full of beautiful parks perfect for a stroll through the trees.

If you want to stay closer to home, simply stroll around the community or take the dog for a 15-minute walk. The parks also can serve as a great place for a bike ride, fishing, or to watch a sports event, such as a baseball or lacrosse game. There is also beautiful wildlife located in the parks as well. You and your loved one can go pet the horses or even go birdwatching.

Shop Fresh

Springtime is one of the best times to purchase fresh produce, but do not limit yourself by only visiting the grocery store. Spice things up by picking up mom or dad and taking them to a local farmer’s market. There you can stroll the many vendors, smell the fresh plants, see the local artwork, and sample the unique foods. Another fun place to shop fresh is at a plant nursery. You can find a nursery that offers your parent’s favorite type of flowers with a little research. You can even purchase an easy-to-manage plant for your mom or dad to keep and brighten up their room. This way they can bring the beauty of springtime inside.

Eat Fresh

One of the least expensive ways to eat fresh is to plant your own garden, which can also be a fun activity to do with mom or dad. You can plant herbs, fruits, and veggies all to help create well-balanced meals. You can also plan to prepare a meal together in the future with your new garden and reserve more quality time in the future. Another way you can eat fresh with your loved one is to have a meal outdoors enjoying the fresh air. You can prepare a picnic together and eat at a local park or even out in the backyard. If you want to skip the meal prep, then you can make reservations at a restaurant with outdoor seating. It can be very easy to eat unhealthily when someone else prepares your food so try to stick to light portions and salads.
